As the nightingale of India passed away, everyone paid their respects to Lata Mangeshkar including Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan. However, the actor was wrapped up in serious accusations which later proved to be fake.
Lata Mangeshkar’s body was cremated in Mumbai with full state honors on Sunday. Many public figures such as the Indian Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi and Bollywood bigwigs attended the funeral rites.
Meanwhile, large crowds gathered to pay their respects. Social media platforms were filled with tributes as people from across the world voiced their love for the legendary singer.
Among the outpour of obituaries came a bizarre accusation. A video of Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan who was present at the funeral along with his manager surfaced on the web. In the video, Khan can be seen reading a dua and then blowing it into the air. However, Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Arun Yadav misinterpreted the gesture and accused SRK of spitting on Lata Mangeshkar’s body.
Soon enough, BJP leaders began receiving flak for deliberately spreading Islamophobia and targeting Muslims.
This wouldn’t be the first time BJP targeted the Muslim megastar. In the past BJP Vice implied, Shah Rukh Khan is an Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agent.
