Minister for Petroleum Ghulam Sarwar Khan says the government has decided to enhance oil and gas exploration in the country to meet the increasing demand of petroleum products.
Talking to a private news channel, he said ten new blocks will be awarded for exploration in different oil and gas potential areas through open bidding that will result in a remarkable increase in oil and gas exploration activities.
The Minister said efforts will also be made to improve local production of refined and crude petroleum products.
He said the government has decided to give adequate representation to provinces in boards of directors of fifteen companies working under Ministry of Petroleum.
