General Qamar Bajwa appointed COAS for another 3 years

Government has granted an extension of three years in service to incumbent Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

A notification issue by the Prime Minister Office today says the step has been taken in view of regional security environment.

His extension will start from the day of his retirement.

Extension approved in wake of situation in Occupied Kashmir and Afghanistan: FM

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi says that the Prime Minister Imran Khan using his constitutional mandate, has approved an extension in tenure of Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

In a statement, he said extension has been approved in wake of situation in Occupied Kashmir and Afghanistan.

To Kashmir issue, he said the actual facts will emerge when curfew will be lifted in Occupied Kashmir.

He said according to AFP report, it has been tried to breach curfew in Occupied Kashmir and there are reports of conflict between Indian security forces and Kashmiris.

The foreign minister said Indian Defence Minister’s irresponsible statement has exposed intentions of India before the world.
