The Cyber Crime Wing (CCW) of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has apprehended a suspect who used popular games to blackmail minors through objectionable videos.
A case has been registered under the relevant laws against the suspect and further investigation is underway.
According to Deputy Director CCW, Mohammad Iqbal, the offender was arrested from Jamshoro during a raid. The CCW team also recovered a huge cache of pornographic and sexually explicit videos from the Mobile phone and laptop of the accused.
He added that the suspect used to befriend minors through PUBG and 8 Ball Pool. He duped them into sending him their obscene videos in exchange for game coins, which the offender used to blackmail the minors.
The suspect had long been on the list of FIA’s most wanted offenders, with scores of complaints lodged against him in regional offices across Sindh, KP, and Punjab, the FIA official told.
Earlier this month, FIA’s CCW had arrested a member of an international child pornography racket from Narowal, recovering more than 600 videos of child abuse from the offender’s mobile and laptop. FIA had evidence against the suspect from the Brazilian government through INTERPOL.
