Etisalat, a middle eastern telco and owner of Ufone in Pakistan, has just launched the next generation of mobile internet. The company just launched the 5G network for its users, enabling data speeds unlike anything available before.
This makes UAE the first market to get their hands on the revolutionary technology in the middle east. Cities in the UAE with 5G coverage include Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dabhi, Al Ain, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah for now. Coverage will, of course, expand further to more regions of the country in the future.
What Does 5G Bring?
5G is the 5th generation of wireless mobile internet. It is significantly faster than 4G, allowing a theoretical download speed of up to 10,000 Mbps with latency as low as 1ms. You can stream ultra HD videos anytime and lower latency means multiplayer online gaming will become smoother.
With 5G, there will be no network congestion and no service degradation even in densely populated areas. You will also be able to experience futuristic services like smart metering, autonomous cars, eHealth services and much more, which were never possible on previous technologies.
