On June 9, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) took a number of decisions, including easing the curbs from June 15. Walk-in facility for people over 18 years began from June 11 and vaccination centersΓÇÖ timing was readjusted from 8 AM to 10 PM daily, except Sundays.
After lifting of the curbs imposed to contain the spread of COVID-19, the number of infections and positivity rate have again started increasing in the country. Health experts further fear that Eid-ul-Azha can provide an opportunity for COVID-19 to bounce back.
NCOC warns of possible strict lockdown during EID holidays if people do not follow COVID-19 safety precautions as witnessed on Eid-ul-Fitr. The forum expressed ΓÇ£grave concernsΓÇ¥ over violations of COVID-19 SOPs in restaurants, wedding halls, transport, markets and other sectors, as per the official statement. The NCOC also warned that the decision of relaxing COVID-19 related restrictions could be reversed in case of non-compliance with the SOPs.
