The NCOC has announced new restrictions in major cities of Pakistan in view of the rising number of coronavirus cases in the country.
The restrictions will be imposed in below-mentioned cities:
PUNJAB: Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, and Multan
KPK: Peshawar and Abbottabad
AJK: Muzaffarabad and Mirpur
GB: Gilgit and Skardu.
SINDH: Lockdowns are already in place in Karachi and Hyderabad, but after August 8, the NCOCs new curbs will also apply
As per the new restrictions:
1- All commercial activities will be closed by 2000hrs instead of 2200hrs
2- Indoor dining will remain banned whereas, outdoor dining will be allowed until 2200hrs instead of 2400hrs. except for takeaway and home-delivery services
3- Public transport will operate on a 50% capacity
4- Shops/markets will remain closed twice a week. However, the provincial governments will decide about the safe days.
5- Offices to operate on a 50% capacity
The new coronavirus restrictions will come into effect from Aug 3 and will remain in place until Aug 31.
