Acclaimed Pakistani actor, TV anchor and host Tariq Aziz has passed away in Lahore on Wednesday.
As per the reports, he was admitted in a private hospital last night after his condition deteriorated. The news of his demise was confirmed by his son.
The Demise of a Legend
Tariq Aziz is a legendary figure from PTV and Radio Pakistan. He was the first male PTV announcer when the country started its initial broadcast in November 1964.
He was also one of the first anchors to gain commercial success through his game show Neelam Ghar and later the Tariq Aziz Show (Bazm-e-Tariq Aziz).
Tariq Aziz had also served as a politician and had been a member National Assembly of Pakistan from 1997 and 1999.
In 1992, he was awarded the Pride of Performance Award by the President of Pakistan for his services to the nation.
Even when he had turned old, he did not lose his patriotic spirit and in 2019 won hearts by donating all of his assets to the country.
