M2 Lahore-Islamabad Motorway Now Open for All Traffic

The Lahore-Islamabad Motorway (M2) has now been opened at all key sections for all types of traffic.

The M2 motorway from Chakri is now open while vehicles from Neela Dullah can travel via normal route.

Latest updates on the M1 motorway will be shared accordingly.

The Lahore Traffic Police on Sunday announced that all entry and exit points of the city are open for traffic. Movement in and out of the city is smooth while the Eastern Bypass is now accessible. Traffic is flowing normally at key locations, including Babusabu, Thokar Niaz Baig, Shahdara, and Saggiyan.

In Islamabad, the main Kashmir Highway is now open for traffic towards motorway but containers are still present at 26 Number Chungi. Sources informed ProPakistani that the government is making all efforts to clear the road on priority.

Rawalpindi deputy commissioner confirmed the restoration of traffic in the garrison city, saying that all roadblocks and containers have been removed from the city.

Both tracks of Murree Road and nearby thoroughfares have been opened and the remaining obstacles are being removed, he said.

The official, however, added that the Murree Road at Faizabad remains closed as the Islamabad administration have the authority to open it and all ways connecting Pindi to the capital city.
