The gifts keep pouring in from across the country for the Olympic Gold Medalist Arshad Nadeem. It is pertinent to mention that the javelin thrower broke the Olympic record last week by crossing the 90-meter mark. The Pakistani athlete became the first Pakistani to win an individual gold medal after 40 years, ending a 32-year Olympic medal drought in the country.
Today, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz visited Nadeem’s home village in Mian Channu to congratulate him on the historic victory. During the meeting, the chief minister presented the athlete with a cheque of Rs. 10 crores and a Honda Civic with a special number plate PAK 92.97, the distance of the throw by Nadeem.

Arshad Nadeem became in the limelight after his medal-winning performance in the Asian and Commonwealth games and his close contest with Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra. Earlier, Toyota Pakistan became an official sponsor of Nadeem before the Paris Olympics 2024, recognizing his talent.
Nadeem was Pakistan’s biggest hope of winning a medal. He exceeded all expectations, winning a gold medal and breaking the Olympic record twice, cementing his place at the global level. The cherry on top for Pakistani fans was that he defeated Chopra in the finals.
Upon returning to Pakistan, Nadeem received a resounding welcome from the people. A huge number welcomed him at Lahore airport, where he was taken in a procession. Furthermore, he received a historic welcome in his village, where relatives, friends, and family drowned him in love. Along with the gift from the chief minister, multiple businessmen, corporations, and brands have announced multiple rewards for the athlete.
In the automotive industry, Toyota Pakistan has announced a locally assembled Corolla Cross hybrid, while a businessman vowed to gift Nadeem a Suzuki Alto. In short, Nadeem will get the cars from Big 3 in Pakistan, meaning he is now a Civic Wala Launda, along with owning Toyota and Suzuki cars.
